New England’s Chris Kelly ‘could be the answer’ for Canucks in 2017-18
New England, MA — Boston Bruins defenseman Chris Kelly could be a candidate for the Canucks’ opening night roster.
According to reports, the Canucks are exploring options for the 22-year-old Kelly who has been out of the lineup since early February with an injury.
Kelly, who was born in Massachusetts, is a natural right-handed shot who has spent most of his career with the Bruins.
However, the team has been working on bringing Kelly back into the lineup after he missed all but one game last season due to injury.
Kelly has six goals and 16 points in 61 games this season, helping the Bruins to a 5-3-0 record.
Last season, Kelly played in 64 games and had a goal and an assist.
The Bruins have been one of the best teams in the NHL over the past two seasons, but Kelly is still considered an intriguing option.
