Inside the world’s largest ad company, Free-Ads & AdWords: How a $10M ad company has become one of the world.
Free-ad sales have been rising in recent years and are projected to rise another $1 billion in 2020, according to new research from research firm IDC.
The report, Free Ads & Adwords: How A $10 Million Ad Company Has Become One of the World, says free ads have grown by 6% over the past year and $7 billion in revenue, or $10.6 billion in sales.
IDC predicts the market for free ads will reach $11.8 billion in 2019.
Free ads are ads that aren’t sponsored, are free and aren’t paid for by advertisers.
In this case, the company’s ads are paid for through other revenue streams, including online ads, direct sales, mobile ads, paid subscriptions and ad networks.
Advertisers like Google and Facebook are among the biggest free ad buyers in the world, but many smaller companies are also using the advertising space to earn a few extra bucks.
“As more and more brands adopt these technologies, free advertising will continue to expand and grow,” said Daniel J. Berenson, the IDC director of research and product management.
The number of companies with free ads increased by 6.9% in 2020 to 3,974.
The growth rate of new ad revenue has been higher than the overall industry, as new ad businesses are being established and old ones shut down.
Free advertising is also expanding in other categories, including: ecommerce and mobile, media and advertising, social media, entertainment, gaming and education.
The top three free advertising growth areas for 2019 are education, social and entertainment, and ecommerce, according IDC’s latest report.
While the report predicts that free ads for social and education will continue their growth in 2019, it also notes that social media ads are expanding faster than ecommerce.
The social media market is projected to grow by 6%, up from 4% in 2019 to $1.4 billion in 2018.
For video advertising, IDC forecasts that digital video ads will grow by 15% in 2018 to $5.3 billion in 2021.
The ad market is also expected to see a 20% increase in 2018, with ecommerce advertising accounting for a 7% increase.
The total ad market for 2021 is estimated to be $7.1 billion, up $2.1 in 2018 and $5 billion from 2020.
